Herefordshire Clubs and Schools have a strong track record in the FA Youth Futsal Cup and in 2019 this is set to continue.

For the first time this season, the FA Youth Futsal Cup was split into seperate School and Club competitions with the Schools playing U11, U13 and U15 agegroups and the clubs U10, U12, U14 and U16.The 2019 Regional rounds were superbly organised by Birmingham FA and took place at the excellent PlayFootball facility in Birmingham.

The schools were first up and travelled down up to Birmingham on Wednesday 20th March to take on their other West Midlands counterparts. The boys and girls teams from Herefordshire did exceptionally well with 4 teams going on to qualify for the next stage of the competition; the national semi-finals.

Leominster Primary Schools U11 Girls joined Whitecross U13 Girls, U13 Boys and U15 Boys in producing some excellent displays to make it through to the next round.

On Saturday 23rd March it was the clubs turn and again 8 Herefordshire teams made the short journey to try and stake their claim for the national rounds. With 7 different clubs represented across the boys and girls age groups, it was clear to see the spread of talent in Herefordshire. Once again, the teams in attendance did superbly and can all be proud of their performances and behaviour on the day.

In the boys section Ross Jrs U10, Hereford City U12 and Westfields U14s all went close, finishing in second place whilst Fownhope U15, national finalists last season, will be proud of coming 3rd in the U16 age group.

It was not too long ago that Ross U10 Girls won the national finals and they will be hopeful of doing so again having won the U12 regional competition this time around. This added to a fantastic day for the Herefordshire girls teams as Tupsley Vixens U10s, Hinton U14s and Hereford Lads Club U16 Vixens all made it through to the next round.
