How did you feel when you heard about winning the grassroots award for 2024? 

A mixture of shock an pride at winning this award. Although I was aware of the awards I didn’t know I had been nominated originally and with so many great volunteers and coaches in Hereford it’s a fantastic honour to be chosen.

What is your favourite thing about your role within local football in Herefordshire?

Getting to be involved in helping young people become part of a sport that they love and enjoy playing and become more confident versions of themselves.

What are you aspirations for local football in Herefordshire?

For as many young people as possible to be able to take up football regardless of ability . Too many times I’ve seen kids not given the opportunity to play as not being at the right level. Football should be for everyone to play and enjoy.

What encouraging words would you have for anyone wanting to get involved within local football?

To contact your local club or FA and get involved whether as a volunteer, coach or player. Always keep going as the rewards for our young players and teams make a massive difference to their enjoyment and futures.
