Works to Begin on Artificial Pitch
Herefordshire Football Association can confirm that work on the brand new artificial grass pitch at the Herefordshire FA County Ground will begin this Wednesday 26th June.
The project will be worked on throughout the summer with work expected to take 16 weeks from start to completion. During this period access to the site will be made across Widemarsh Common via a temporary trackway. Members of the public are advised that as a result there may be some short time disruption in the immediate vicinity of Widemarsh Common and the construction site although every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum. Herefordshire FA would like to issue their thanks for patience during this period.
Once completed, Herefordshire Football Association and its partners will utilise the state of the art facility to achieve their goals of increasing participation and offer even more opportunities to the local community to get involved in football.
Simon Panes, CEO of Herefordshire FA commented “We are committed to ensuring football is a sport for all and the new pitch will allow us to expand our offer as we grow the game in Herefordshire. From disability football to coach education and adult 11v11 football, the new 3G pitch will provide a huge boost to the local community.”
The Herefordshire FA would like to place on record its thanks to everyone who has helped support the project so far, including our local ward member Polly Andrews, Herefordshire Council Planning, The Football Foundation, our key partners; Hereford Lads Club and our other local clubs as well as the wider community.
